The Global Reading Room is a safe virtual place where kids 1-10 years old from around the world gather once a week along with their parents/guardians and teachers to read books written, illustrated, and published by authors and illustrators of African descent. The impact of this creative reading platform will increase participants creativity, communication skills, imagination, comprehension, cognitive development, concentration, and love for reading.
We are excited about our launch on Sunday, February 11th, 2024. There will be two reading rooms each Sunday. The first Reading Room is at 11:00a.m. Easter Standard Time (EST). The second Reading Room is at 4:00p.m. Eastern Standard Time(EST). Each session will run for 90 minutes. Excitedly, at the end of each session, participants will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to write a five (5) page book that with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the stories will be transformed into an animation project.
We encourage schools, daycare facilities , libraries, community organizations, faith-based organization, families, and the nine Panhellenic sororities and fraternities' youth programs to join the Reading Room. Registration is open and space is limited. Please contact us if you are interested in joining the READING ROOM.
Please call (516) 382-7340 or email us at acoore@coorefoundation.org.
We look forward to sharing our READING ROOM with you, your kids, and your community every Sunday.
